Rotary's 7 Areas of Focus

The seven areas Rotary focuses on worldwide

Maternal and Child Health

The ability of mothers and children to lead healthy lives is one of the fundamental conditions for the sustainable development of societies. Despite this, millions of mothers and children around the world face preventable risks due to malnutrition, lack of access to basic health services and unhealthy living conditions.

Rotary carries out national and international projects to reduce maternal and child mortality, expand access to quality health services and support preventive health practices. In this way, it contributes to empowering mothers, helping children grow up healthy and securing the future of communities.

Peacebuilding and Conflict Prevention

Strengthening peace and preventing conflict is one of Rotary's priority areas of service. To this end, projects are carried out to support conflict resolution, mediation and sustainable peace.

Under the Rotary Peace Centers Program, expert leaders are trained in the field of peace and conflict resolution; scholars pursue a master's degree or certificate program at partner universities and contribute to peace efforts in different parts of the world.

Let's Protect the Environment

Protecting the environment is one of Rotary's seven areas of focus supported by global grants. Rotary supports projects that contribute to the conservation of natural resources, the promotion of environmental sustainability and the fight against climate change.

Community and Economic Development

Around 800 million people in the world live on an income of less than 1.90 dollars a day. Through projects that support economic and community development, Rotary aims to increase individuals' productivity, create sustainable livelihoods and help strengthen communities economically.

Disease Prevention and Treatment

Disease prevention and treatment is one of Rotary's priority areas of service. Millions of people around the world lack access to basic health services and live in adverse conditions because of preventable diseases.

Rotary carries out projects to increase access to health services, support the fight against infectious and chronic diseases, expand preventive health practices and improve communities' health awareness.

Basic Education and Literacy

Basic education and literacy is one of Rotary's priority areas of service. While millions of children around the world are deprived of educational opportunities, increasing literacy rates and ensuring equal opportunity in education remain important.

Rotary carries out projects that increase access to quality education, support literacy and improve educational opportunities for children and adults.

Water, Sanitation and Hygiene

Water, sanitation and hygiene are among the fundamental elements of a healthy life. Despite this, millions of people around the world lack access to clean water and safe sanitation services.

Through projects that increase access to clean water sources, develop sanitation infrastructure and spread hygiene awareness, Rotary contributes to raising communities' quality of life.
